FESS under difficult viewing conditions. How can you operate safely anyway?

With interested ENT specialists (e.g. from Baden-Wuerttemberg, Saxony and Brandenburg), the course "FESS under difficult viewing conditions" took place for the sixth time in Leipzig.
With the help of navigation technology, the interventions can be carried out without direct visual inspection. The optical navigation system from KARL STORZ, which is used in the OR of the ACQUA Clinic, offers, in addition to locating and tracking the instruments, a distance measurement to critical structures and tissues as well as a distance warning. By setting markers, the surgeon reaches predefined stations in the surgical field where defined steps are to be performed. In the case of difficult visibility conditions, the surgeon no longer has to stop the procedure but is guided through the operating area with virtual reality and with the utmost precision.
